Movie Of The Week: Dark Shadows

Johnny Depp is back in this horror comedy film based on the 1966–1971 gothic horror soap opera of the same name. This time round, the female lead is performed by Michelle Pfeiffer.

There have been good reviews on the acting and characters backgrounds in the movie which isn’t really a surprise since we know how experience they already are. Tim Burton is the director  and you might be familiar with his quirky-themed styles in movies such as Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorshand, Alice in Wonderland, etc. The movie was also praised for its visuals however there are negative points highlighted on the storyline and direction.

Dark Shadows scores a 6.6 on IMDB and a rotten 42% on rottentomatoes.com.

Bottomline: If you are a fan of Tim Burton movies and is ready for some laughter at the cinemas this weekend, then you won’t want to miss it. But if you are expecting a Tim Burton masterpiece and a really good story, you just might be a little disappointed.
