Based on a critically acclaim novel of the same name by Orson Scott Card, Ender’s Game is a futuristic movie where a gifted child who excels in strategy virtual games is sent to a military academy in preparation for an imminent alien attack on earth. Will he succeed? Find out this Thursday on 7th November when it screens across all major cinemas in Singapore.

Gavin Hood is the director of the movie and you might be familiar with his name if you have watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine or Tsotsi which won the 2005 Academy Award for best Foreign Language Film category. He was also named in Variety magazine as one of the top ten directors to watch a decade ago. Need no introduction on Hollywood veterans Harrison Ford, Ben Kingsley and Violas Davis. Asa Butterfield starring as child prodigy Ender Wiggin who rose to fame in the BBC TV series Merlin and the 2010 movie Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang.

There’s no worldwide release for Ender’s Game, which screened in the states on 1st November. Reviews so far has been above average with scores on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes at 7.2/10 and 62% fresh at point of writing. Screen time is around 2 hours with Dolby Atmos option available at GVmax for the best sound experience. Forget about waiting for the bluray release, this is one movie you should definitely watch in the theaters, especially if you are a sci-fi movie fan.
