A Dream Like A Dream is an 8-hour Chinese contemporary theatre play written and directed by acclaimed director Stan Lai which has been described by the BBC as “probably the best Chinese language playwright and director in the world.”
It’s a play about stories within stories; dreams within dreams, featuring over 100 characters from a cast of 29 established performers. This epic production was first staged in Taiwan in 2000 to critical acclaim and finally here in Singapore for the first time as part of the Huayi – Chinese Festival of Arts 2014.
The most captivating part of the theatre setup is the “Lotus Pond” seating arrangement, where the audience is able to rotate their seats 360 degrees viewing the play from different angles surrounded by the two-storey high stage. However the Lotus Pond seats are selling out soon as updated from Huayi Festival official Facebook page.
Ticket prices starts from $48 to $188. Huayi Friends receive a 15% discount and if you are booking 4 tickets or more you get a 10% discount. Check out A Dream Like A Dream’s official page on Huayi Festival website for more information.
