From Pink Apple, the organizers that brought you the sold out running event Garfield Run, here comes Hello Kitty Run set to happen on the morning of 1st November 2014 in celebration of her 40th birthday.
No details on the venue at this time of writing but you can pre-register your interest from the official Hello Kitty Run website now and the organizers will notify you via email when the ticketing opens later this year. There’s a $65 pre-registration pricetag on the website which might mean the early-bird pricing and the approval number by Sanrio suggests that this running event is pretty real.
Hello Kitty is a fictional character created by Sanrio in 1974 and groomed into a global marketing phenomenon worth US$7 billion a year.
Update 27 August 2014: All 15,000 slots for pre-registration has been taken up and the organizers are no longer accepting new pre-registrations. For folks who have pre-registered, you will have one week to confirm your purchase when the organizers contact you through email on the first week of September 2014. If you are late and reading this, don’t worry if you can’t get a ticket for the run as you will still be able to join the event and participate in their fringe activities.
