3D Print your own Crossguard Lightsaber from the upcoming Star Wars movie

That is if you own a 3D printer

Here’s a project you can try on your own if you own a 3D Printer and if you are a Star Wars fan. After Walt Disney release the latest teaser trailer for the Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens film which garnered over 12 million views on Youtube, the people behind le FabShop, an online shop that sells 3D Printers and filament materials based in France, decides to try building a prototype toy of the crossguard lightsaber which can be found in the trailer to find out how feasible it is as a weapon.

Needless to say, the whole process and video is rather comical but it’s cool they have also release the blueprint files in STL format for free. You can find out more from their DIY guide on Instructables, including all the files you need to send to your 3D Printer.

Great project to spend time on with the kids this festive season for those who owns a 3D Printer.
