If you have found BreadTalk’s bottled soya milk tasting all too familiar, you might find this discovery a little distasteful. Spotted by a customer by the name of KEV and first written on RedWire Times, BreadTalk’s supposedly freshly prepared Soya Milk is in fact being transfer-filled from Yeo’s packeted soya milk drinks.
According to Redmart’s website, a packet of 1-litre Yeo’s soya bean milk costs only $1.00 which could easily fill up to 4 bottles. BreadTalk then re-sells the same soya milk in the bottles for $1.80 each in their stores, that translates to more than 600% markup.
BreadTalk has since admitted to the story a couple ago on their Facebook page and had ceased selling the Soya Milk bottles, at the same time they will transit their bottle sales to dispensing machines in a bid to convey greater clarity.
Dear fans and loyal customers,
We've heard your concerns over our soya bean beverage sold in stores.
