It’s official – Instagram is no longer a square photo social app. If you have many times try to fit a landscape or portrait photo into Instagram with third-party apps, you will find the experience a little underwhelming.
As it turns out, Instagram understands the frustration and decided yesterday to open up the support for image ratios other than square. There’s no need trying to find the perfect crop, the latest update promises once you shared your photo, the full-sized version will appear to your followers in feed a beautiful and natural way.
Except, the photos in your profile grid will still be center-cropped to keep everything clean. Oh and yes, videos get the same new cinematic support too.
