Both supermarket chains FairPrice and Sheng Siong has started withdrawing paper products from APP (Asia Pulp & Paper Group) from their stores after the Indonesian company fall into the list of suspected companies involved in burning forests contributing to the haze.

If you are looking for paper products from brands such as Paseo, Jolly and NICE, you won’t be able to find them on the shelves in FairPrice or Sheng Siong starting today as they have withdrawn the products following a temporary restriction on APP’s Green Label certification. Other affected products include FairPrice house branded Softpack Tissue 200 and Gold 3-Ply Facial Tissue 140.

Meanwhile, APP says they have nothing to hide and claims none of their suppliers has been proven to be involved in setting forest fires. They have also invited NEA officials to visit its operations in Indonesia after the local environment agency issue a notice under the Transboundary Haze Pollution Act.
