Japan Sakura comes to Singapore

Japan’s cherry blossoms or more commonly known as Sakura is expected to bloom around late March to early May this year according to the latest forecasts by the weather association in the country. Every year, tourists from all over the world travel to Japan during this period of the year to witness the trees in full bloom.

Yet many are reluctant to travel to Japan during this period due to the soaring prices in hotels and flights but now there’s a rare opportunity to witness the real cherry blossoms here at home. Brought to you none other than Gardens by the Bay for the first time in Singapore, the organisers have flown in over 20 breathtaking varieties of sakura blooms including the Prunus ‘Shirotae’ from Mt Fuji and the vibrant Okame from Japan.

Gardens by the Bay’s latest experimental floral display titled “Blossom Beats” will only be exhibiting in the Flower Dome for a short two week period from now till 27th March 2016 from 9am to 9pm daily. The dome will also be styled after a traditional Japanese garden, featuring elements such as tori gate, Japanese screens and kimono.

Entrance tickets to the Flower Dome are priced at $12 per adult and $8 for children 3 to 12 years and senior citizens.
