This isn’t your regular satay stall. The Skewer Bar is a yakitori hawker-style joint you will unexpectedly find in a heartland coffeeshop in Geylang.

Operated by ex-Japanese and ex-Italian chefs, the new stall which opened earlier this year serves yakitori sticks in Chinese/Japanese flavours, and off-the-sticks food such as grilled oysters, stingray with chilli and more. The best news of all is perhaps the price – each stick costs only $1.20, way more affordable than the same restaurants you find in town.

The Skewer Bar has since gone viral on social media so if you are planning to head down, be sure to make a reservation with them to avoid long queues and disappointment.

You can find them at 489 Geylang Road, opening hours are from 6:30 pm to 1:30 am Monday to Thursday and until 2:30 am on weekends.
