But when will we see it in Singapore?

Xiaomi has been aggressively launching new mass market products into China and the rest of the world. Having introduced household products such as air purifiers, water filtration system and even a drone to compete with DJI, here comes its latest product.

The Mi Qicycle is Xiaomi’s latest secret weapon after backing startup iRiding earlier this year. For only ¥2,999 (est. S$609.53), the new folding electric bike is capable of travelling 45km on a single charge, powered by the same Panasonic lithium ion cells used by Tesla.

Weighing at 14.5kg, Qicycle also comes equipped with a Shimano Nexus 3-speed hub and front and back lights for safety. It’s a smart bike as well and connects to a smartphone app via Bluetooth and lets the user check the bike status, riding stats and GPS navigation.

Can’t wait to buy one? You can’t, unfortunately, unless you decide to ship one in from China since it’s the only market that Xiaomi is selling to at the moment. We wonder if Mi Singapore will eventually sort out the logistics and bring it in, but until then local Mi fans can only hope.
