It’s so easy to get distracted by your phone these days, whether it’s an update from social media, a Whatsapp message or the itch to spin a Pokestop near you on Pokemon Go.
Pomodoro timers don’t work too since you could cheat easily by ignoring it. So here’s a mobile app that aims to keep you focused by rewarding you with a virtual tree if you leave your phone aside, and if you get distracted and leave the app to open something else, you instantly kill the tree.
The goal of the app then is to collect as many trees and coins thereby turning your focused time into a lovely forest. There are also a variety of trees you can choose, but certain ones require you to unlock them through coins earned.
Forest just might be the app to keep users focused by gamifying the process (or the uncomfortable intent to kill a tree). The only question is its effectiveness over time once the user has gotten bored of the app.
