SMRT to roll out first 10 Buses with USB Charging Ports starting this Thursday (September 1)

Soon you won’t need to worry about your smartphone or devices running out of battery if you are taking the public transport, particularly SMRT buses.

The transport operator SMRT will be deploying 10 new double-decker buses equipped with USB charging ports starting this Thursday, 1 September 2016. The buses that will come with the new feature are services 61, 67, 985, 963 and 969.

According to reports, there will be 41 ports on each bus located at the wall of the inner seats. They will also be made available for wheelchair bays in buses.

Another 100+ buses equipped with the charging ports will be deployed from October later this year.
