Hokkaido cheesecake dessert bar LeTAO set to open in ION Orchard on December 8

Famous cheese confectionery from Otaru City

This could well bring on the next wave of dessert craze, that is if you are a fan of cheese and cheesecakes.

LeTAO is a dessert chain from Otaru City in Hokkaido, Japan known for its signature dual-layer Double Fromage Cheesecake. It consists of a layer of baked cheesecake below and a no-bake mascarpone cheesecake on top that result in a surprisingly rich, milky taste that melts in your mouth.

Apart from cheesecakes, LeTAO also offers a variety of treats such as mousse, biscuits, tarts, sweets, chocolates and freshly baked bread. LeTAO first opened in the port city of Otaru back in mid-1998 and its stores had since been a tourist attraction.

In Japan, LeTAO provides home delivery service and in order to ensure their cheesecakes tastes fresh and exactly as it is made, they employ a freezing method that took them three years to develop.

Announced on the official Facebook page last night, LeTAO will be opening a takeaway kiosk at ION Orchard on 8 December 2016. Do keep a lookout for it at the mall.
