Getting mobile around your neighbourhood or to work usually means lugging a bulky e-bike/scooter around. Although electric skateboards have been around, they usually cost well over a grand.
Kuickwheel is a company that has just launched their Serpent series of electric skateboards on Kickstarter.
- Serpent-C – The lightest and smallest electric skateboard features a 300-watt motor that can go up to 18km/h for up to 10km distance.
- Serpent-W – Longer but more powerful. The 18-inch longboard can run up to 40km/h lasting over 15km range and features extra safety LED lighting.
Both skateboards come with an IP54 waterproof rating and are controlled using a force-sensitive controller.
Perhaps the best news about these electric skateboards is their prices. Serpent-C starts at just US$199 while Serpent-W at US$519. Shipping to Singapore will cost an additional US$49 – US$69.
With the affordability factor surrounding the Serpent series, it would be surprising if this Kickstarter campaign doesn’t perform.
