After the bike sharing frenzy, here comes Singapore’s first electric car sharing company. That’s right, BlueSG officially launches their service earlier on Tuesday with 80 cars available at 32 locations islandwide.

Under the agreement with LTA, BlueSG’s car-sharing programme will include 500 stations with a total of 2,000 charging points, of which 20% of these charging points will be available for public use. BlueSG expects to expand its current fleet to a total of 1,000 EVs in the future.

How it works

To be able to rent a BlueSG car, customers with a valid driving license must first sign up via their website or BlueSG mobile app to receive a member card or use a paired EZ-Link card. Customers can then visit the designated BlueSG locations to rent or return a car.

Customers can also request for help from the call centre simply by pushing a blue button in the car.

What about the price?

Customers can either pay $0.50 per minute to rent a BlueSG car or subscribe to BlueSG membership for a monthly fee of $15 and a discounted rate of $0.33 per minute, with a minimum duration of 15 minutes.
