DJI releases new Mavic Air ultraportable drone that shoots videos in 4K

Sits between Mavic Pro and Spark

The ultraportable Mavic Air features high-end flight performance

Looking for your first drone but can’t decide between the DJI Mavic Pro or Spark? Now you can have the best of both worlds with the company’s latest drone just announced today – DJI Mavic Air.

It’s DJI first ultraportable drone with 3-axis gimbal, which also shoots videos in 4K, takes sphere panoramas in 32 MP, a longer 4km range and offers 21 minutes of flight time on full charge.

In comparison, its slightly smaller and lighter sibling Spark only shoots in 1080p, offers only 2-axis gimbal camera, 2km range and 16 minutes of flight time.

In addition to the powerful specs, the Mavic Air also features 3-directional environment sensing to protect the drone from crashing into walls or obstacles, a feature mostly available in DJI premium models such as the Mavic Pro or Phantom series.

It is available now, priced at US$939 on the Singapore site with shipping tax included, a whopping US$140 more than what is being sold on the USA site.

Three colours to choose from – Arctic White (above), Onyx Black, and Flame Red.
