Google Pay is the new payment app to replace Android Pay & Google Wallet

New unified payments service

The new Google Pay app coming to Singapore soon

Come March next month, we won’t be seeing Android Pay logo on payment terminals. That’s because Google has just unified their payment apps into a single app called Google Pay.

There’s little difference to Android Pay in terms of making payment, except for a name change and a different app name which basically combines Android Pay and Google Wallet into a single app.

The move means users will be able to view recent transactions and manage credit/debit, and reward cards in a single mobile app.

Google Pay can be used on payment terminals with the GPay logo or the much familiar contactless payment logo (see below).

The company will also be introducing payments across a variety of apps, website, and friends via email or phone number using Google Pay, according to the website.

Google Pay mobile app is now available for download from Google Play here.
