It got its nickname from the iconic curvy shape and received a cult following when Keanu Reeves was stylishly holding on to it in the hit movie The Matrix.

When Nokia got sold to Microsoft, we knew the hopes of another banana phone are long gone, but now that the company is sold back its original makers at HMD Global, its revival is imminent.

Say hi to the sexy new Nokia 8110, one of five new Nokia phones that were announced earlier today. Nokia kept much of the original, including the classy slide to pick up or end a call. It is covered in a polycarbonate shell and you guess it, it has the classic Snake game preloaded.

You won’t find Android inside, the Nokia 8110 is powered by a simpler Linux-based KaiOS. Other features include 4G LTE support, long multi-day battery life, a 2-megapixel camera and a 4GB storage space.

The Nokia 8110 will come in two colours – Traditional Black and Banana Yellow. It will be released globally in May later this year with a €79 (est.~S$128) retail price tag.
