McDonald’s goes healthy with new Red Rice Porridge available during breakfast hours

6 ingredients in a bowl

Don’t say no healthy option

Aside from salads and wraps, McDonald’s isn’t always the one that comes to mind when it comes to a healthy breakfast meal. That might change as the fast-food chain will, surprisingly, be offering a new porridge option.

Believe it or not, the Red Rice Porridge will be making its way to McD restaurants in Singapore tomorrow (5 April), available only during breakfast hours. The new dish is created together with local chef Anna Lim a.k.a Soup Spoon’s Souperchef Anna and is made with 100% red rice.

Besides red rice, the porridge also contains five other ingredients – shiitake mushrooms, beancurd, sweet potato, corn and goji berries.

Red Rice Porridge will be priced at $3.40 per bowl, $4.30 with coffee or tea or $5.80 in a Breakfast Extra Value Meal that includes a Hashbrown or Corn Cup, and coffee or tea.
