Android 4.4 KitKat Update Rolling Out Today To Nexus 7 & 10 Tablets, Smartphones Coming Soon

Google Nexus 7 and 10 users can get a taste of the new Android 4.4 update KitKat which Google has announced on their Android Twitter page that they are rolling out the updates to devices today. If you own a Nexus 7 or 10 tablet, be sure to check for the update on your device. Below are some of the new features and changes to the new Android OS:

Prettier theme and home screen icons compared to JellyBean
Core Android apps such as email, hangouts, clock, etc. updated
Voice activation – Say “Ok, Google” to activate
QuickOffice app preloaded
Built-in printing functionality
White/Gray icons in toolbar
New dialer design (which also works as a search engine)
Translucent navigation bar
Lower RAM consumption
