Club 21 Servers Compromised, Hackers Gain Access To Customer Data

High profile attacks are rampant these days and companies are struggling to keep up with the latest security updates. Club 21 is a global fashion retailer and the latest to hit the news, and they have send out an email notifying users of the attack. They first discovered unauthorized access on 19th May 2014 but it wasn’t reported if the hackers had gain access prior to the discovery date.

Information that got leaked include obsolete membership card number, name, gender, NRIC/Passport number and date of birth, as well as address, telephone number and email address. Club 21 did not indicate or recommend any action on users end but advise vigilance to not to use passwords that are constructed from personal data.
