Born from Swiss precision and Korean innovation, Irix is a new line of lenses by TH Swiss AG that promises the finest optical performance and usability.
The ultra wide-angle 15mm f/2.4 lens marks the first of its series made for Canon, Nikon and Pentax full-frame DSLR cameras suitable for various indoor and outdoor photography genres including photojournalism, landscapes and architecture.
Lens features include splash and dust proof, focus lock, infinity click and hyperfocal distance scale but more importantly, the company claims the lens colour aberration, ghosting and flare effects has been reduced to the absolute minimum thanks to its special neutrino coating. Engraved fluorescent markings on the lens further enhance the lens operation in all lighting conditions.
The Irix 15mm lens interestingly comes in two models: Blackstone and Firefly. The Firefly comes is lighter in weight and features an ergonomic focusing ring. Both models have aluminium and magnesium body construction.
According to Nikon Rumors, the Firefly will retail at €549 (est. ~S$840.07) while the Blackstone at €699 (est. ~S$1069.60), available in Spring 2016.Learn more from Irix
