Nintendo is releasing a new mini Famicom gaming console in Japan

After announcing a mini-sized Nintendo NES console outside of Japan, the fans in the country were left wondering why Nintendo had forgotten about them.

Nintendo didn’t. Today they announced the original Japanese classic Famicom model that was released two years before the NES was announced. Similar to the mini NES console, the Famicom connects to the TV via an HDMI cable and turns on via a power switch on the front.

The mini Famicom comes with two controllers included by the sides and 30 retro Nintendo games in Japanese including familiar ones such as Double Dragon II, Super Contra, Mario Bros. series, and Final Fantasy.

Priced at ¥5,980 (~S$81) and available in Japan on 10 November later this year. Sadly, the mini Famicom won’t be released anywhere else, meaning you probably have to travel to Japan to get your hands on one or purchase it from a third-party Japanese game store online that ships worldwide.
