Talay Kata Salted Egg Seafood Mookata takes the craze to the next level

Think you have tried all things salted egg? No, you haven’t.

Talay Kata (meaning “seafood” and “pan” in Thai) is a new restaurant that just opened their doors a month back, offering unusual Thai barbecue experience with their signature dish – Salted Egg Seafood Mookata.

Its broth is made from a blend of real salted eggs, seafood, whip cream and Thai herbs simmered for a good couple hours to produce a rich and distinctive salted egg fragrance and flavour. Definitely not your typical Mookata steamboat, that is if you haven’t grown tired of the salted egg craze.

The prices are a little steep though starting at $18.80++ for weekday lunch and up to $33.80++ per person on weekends. You can, however, get a 10% discount off your total bill if you dress up with a little pink (stripes, shades, dots, shapes, patterns are accepted).

Talay Kata is located on level 8 in Orchard Central and opens daily from 11:30am to 10pm with a few hours break in the afternoon.
