For customers waiting for a response from Samsung Singapore regarding their Galaxy Note 7 smartphones, the company had released an update last Friday.

According to the update, customers who have purchased the Galaxy Note 7 are advised to power down the device and stop using it immediately. There will refund or exchange options offered to the customers.

For those who wish to exchange the Galaxy Note 7 phone to the Galaxy S7 Edge 4G+, they will further receive a cheque of $250 in compensation. Owners can also choose the full refund option of $1,168 if they wish to. The refund and exchange options apply to all customers who have purchased the phone from consumer electronic stores, authorised retailers, Samsung Official Store at Lazada and Samsung Experience Stores. The option extends to customers who have signed up contracts for the phone from telcos M1, Starhub, and Singtel.

The exchange and refund program will begin on 26 October 2016. Affected customers can visit the official exchange/refund page to indicate their preference. Free home delivery will also be provided for both exchange and refund options.
