Fans of the long-time dim sum eatery Hua Nam Restaurant will be bidding farewell as the almost 50-year old restaurant closes end of March.

Located at the popular alley along Upper Thomson known for late night local delights such as roti prata and Udders, Hua Nam Restaurant is one of the few eateries in the area that will be making way for the new Thomson-East Coast Line expected to be ready from 2019.

Serving over 1,000 steamers daily to diners, 3rd-gen 54-year old owner Mr Sam Siew says relocation or continuation of the business elsewhere would not be possible as he could not find a suitable successor, according to a report from Straits Times.
