Sony Alpha a9 Mirrorless Full-Frame Camera
Turns out there’s such a thing as the best camera in the world.
Or at least that’s what Sony is trying to achieve with their latest Alpha a9 camera. The new full-frame mirrorless speed demon has taken the internet by storm after its announcement earlier this week and although there technically isn’t a legit full review at the moment, let’s all take a look at what the camera is capable of on paper:
For professional videographers, the Sony Alpha a9 features full pixel readout with no pixel binning, making it possible to condense approximately 2.4 times the amount of data required for 4K shooting. The oversampling process produces the highest 4k movie image quality, you can see a sample provided by Sony below.
Sony’s new Alpha a9 camera is expected to be available next month priced at US$4,500 (est~S$6,284).
Sony has also expanded their G Master series with two new lenses – Sony FE 100mm f/2.8 and super telephoto FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6. The new super telephoto is Sony’s longest E-mount lens yet but weighs a mere 1.4kg, making it among the lightest in its class.
The new FE 100-400mm Super Telephoto Zoom Lens ship this July for about US$2,500 (est~S$3,491).
