With technology replacing inconveniences these days, one has to wonder why drivers in Singapore are still tearing parking coupons.
Well, there’s no need to do that anymore soon. That’s because the Ministry of Communications & Information (MCI) has just completed their digital parking trial and will be launching the Parking.SG mobile app in October later this year.
While parking coupons will still be around, drivers will soon be able to conveniently pay for parking via the mobile app using a debit or credit card.

According to the official website, drivers only need to key in your vehicle number in the app, select the car park and indicate your parking duration. The app will automatically calculate the charges you have to pay.
Drivers can also choose to extend their parking session straight from the app without having to go back to their vehicle. Parking charges are also calculated based on a per-minute basis. Previously with parking coupons, you must use a minimum 30-minute coupon.
