Casio new G-Shock B5000 watches are the first of its kind to feature an all-metal chrome body and faceplate.
Apart from its handsome metallic look, the watch also comes packed with technology including Tough Solar such that the watch never runs out of battery, Multi-Band 6 for atomic clock accuracy, and even Bluetooth support that connects the watch to Casio’s G-Shock Connected mobile app.
However, the Bluetooth function doesn’t turn the watch into a smart one, the connectivity merely enhances the watch’s functionality and accuracy.
With all these technologies packed into a G-Shock, don’t expect the new full metal watches to come cheap. They are priced at S$799 for GMW-B5000D-1DR (Silver) and $949 for GMW-B5000TFG-9DR (Gold).
Despite its crazy price, the gold model has sold out on the first day of launch here in Singapore. You still might be able to pick up the silver model at certain stores but don’t count on the stocks to last very long.
Casio G-Shock Singapore has yet to provide an update on the restock.
