NETS payment now available for Singapore shoppers in Johor Bahru, Malaysia

4,500 acceptance points

Shopping in JB malls? You can use NETS to make purchases now

Going to Johor Bahru (JB) in Malaysia to do some grocery shopping or hunting for good food? You can now make NETS payments.

According to NETS, there are now 4,500 acceptance points in Malaysia including merchants in popular JB shopping destinations such as City Square, KSL City and Sutera Mall.

Singapore shoppers can make use of their ATM cards issued by banks in Singapore to make the NETS payments and there will not be any currency conversion fees when paying. NETS also claims the currency rates will be competitive.

Earlier this month, NETS enabled payment services outside of Singapore for the first time partnering with UnionPay to allow NETSPay app users to make payment via QR codes at UnionPay merchants in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea and Thailand.

NETS Singapore has also signed an agreement with Thailand’s key inter-bank payment infrastructure ITMX on 12 November that allows Thai mobile banking users to scan NETS QR Code in Singapore and NETSPay users to scan Thai Standardised QR Code for purchases in Thailand reciprocally.
