Xiaomi’s new Redmi Go smartphone

Here’s a phone you can buy under $100.

Redmi Go is officially Xiaomi’s cheapest smartphone ever released. The new ultra-affordable phone, despite its low price, still comes with a Snapdragon 425 processor, a 5-inch HD display, cameras on the front and rear and a large 3,000mAh battery that promises 10 days standby time.

More interestingly, the Redmi Go will also be Xiaomi’s first phone with Android Go operating system, a slimmed down version of the Android OS that offers stable and fast performance.

Which is why the phone will only come with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage since according to Google, Android Go optimized apps are built lighter and take up around half the space.

Android Authority has a video that perfectly explains Android Go.

Other features of the phone include dual SIM and expansion slot support, noise-reducing mics, GPS and Bluetooth 4.2 functions.

You can now pre-order the Redmi Go for just S$89 on Qoo10 with free shipping now and according to the seller, it will ship in around a week’s time.

That’s even cheaper than your monthly carpark season parking.

Not kidding, really.

Yeap, that’s your spare phone right there.
