Starting from 4 April this year, commuters will be able to use their Mastercard (VISA later this year) to tap and pay for rides on trains and buses.

Called SimplyGo, the new system is scheduled to roll out nationwide after a successful pilot of the Account-Based Ticketing System (ABT).

With the new payment system, commuters will no longer need to make any upfront top-ups.

Commuters will be required to sign up an account with TransitLink’s SimplyGo portal or mobile app when launched and register the Mastercard or VISA credit/debit card that they wish to use.

Besides enjoying the convenience, users will also be able to track and view your travel expenditure and history on-the-go, enjoy concession card-related services, transit information and more on the TransitLink SimplyGo Portal.

Commuters, however, are advised to take the relevant credit or debit card out when tapping to prevent card clash and deduction from the wrong card.
