Free recycling bin for new BTO households starting this month

Good news if you’re a new BTO homeowner.

National Environment Agency (NEA) has teamed up with IKEA to launch a new initiative that will provide new homeowners with a free recycling bin.

Yes, the one in the picture above.

Here’s the announcement from NEA on their Facebook page.

And this is how the voucher will look like.

18,000 new households

The new initiative is to promote recycling at home. Starting from this month (August 2019), about 18,000 residents of new BTO flats will receive a voucher which can be used to redeem a free recycling bin sponsored by IKEA Singapore.

The precincts with new BTO include MacPherson, Bidadari, Sembawang and Sengkang.

The redemption period starts from 24 August later this month, available at both IKEA Tampines and Alexandra.

It even with a label on how to recycle the right way.

Only recycle paper, metal, plastic and glass are accepted.

You will also need to rinse them before recycling as contaminated ones will be rejected during the recycling process which will then end up as trash.
