Music lovers have one more streaming service to choose from starting today.
That’s because YouTube Music (YT Music) is finally available in Singapore, almost a year after the streaming giant had revamped the app to compete with music streaming services. It will also be available in Malaysia starting this week as well.
Similar to Spotify, YT Music is totally free to use and stream but will come with ads and a reduced audio quality at 128kbit/s. Users can also upgrade to a Premium account at $9.98 per month which will be ad-free and comes with offline mode, background playback and higher 256kbit/s audio quality.
Scrubbing and skipping tracks are allowed on YT Music, unlike Spotify which limits how many times you can skip songs on free accounts.
