Xiaomi Mijia 1.6-litre Compact Rice Cooker goes on sale
Xiaomi likes to make rice cookers.
A quick check reveals they have 7 rice cooker models under their home product category. These rice cookers, while they look mostly the same, have different sizes and features to cater to different family needs (or stomachs).
Mijia Compact Rice Cooker
One of their latest models is a compact 1.6-litre rice cooker, which according to Xiaomi, is targeted at smaller families, students, singles and seniors.
Inside the compact rice cooker is a 400-watt thermal heater that can cook up to 6 bowls of fluffy rice at any one time.
It’s no slouch
Other features of the rice cooker include dual thermal sensors to ensure cooking at optimal temperatures, a 5-layer thick pot with Daikin non-stick PFA coating, Wi-Fi and app connectivity, and large LED display.
It also has a removable cover that’s easy to clean after cooking.
Perhaps the best news of all is it only costs S$39.90 now, available in a limited time deal on Qoo10 marketplace. In China, the same model retails at ¥199 (~S$40) before shipping.
Even though Xiaomi has a short history of making rice cookers, you probably can’t go wrong with this model at this price, especially if you dread scrubbing burnt rice off your old one.
