Japanese ramen bar IPPUDO is best known for their creamy and rich Hakata-style tonkotsu broth and perfectly cooked ramen noodles.
While there are unusual ramen flavours that can be found in Singapore such as cheese, curry, truffle or even kimchi, you probably never had chocolate-infused ramen before.
Believe it or not, IPPUDO Singapore has just launched a new seasonal ramen dish – Miso Akamaru Ramen which comes with cacao koyu or in other words – chocolate infused fragrant garlic oil.
Sounds strange? Not according to IPPUDO which says the interplay between the cacao’s nutty aroma and garlic oil’s sharp profile gives the rich, umami broth an added depth of flavour.
Here’s a video showing how it’s made.
Yummy.
In addition to the chocolate-infused garlic oil, the ramen’s broth is simmered for 18 hours with IPPUDO’s Original Tonkotsu Broth featuring pork bones and graced with a unique blend of four types of red and white miso.
Mouth-watering.
Chock full of ingredients
Each bowl includes four pieces of tender chashu (two pork belly and two pork loin), crunchy fresh cabbage, chopped spring onions, an egg, and minced pork marinated with sansho pepper, black pepper and IPPUDO original soya sauce.
Not forgetting IPPUDO’s original Akamaru miso paste and savoury butter corn.
The new Miso Akamaru Ramen is priced at $17.50 per bowl and will be available till the end of the year.
