It’s official: Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night LEGO set will be available soon

25-year old Truman Cheng from Hong Kong has managed to convinced LEGO and fans from around the world to create a set based on Van Gogh’s famous Starry Night art piece.

It’s official, says LEGO

What started as a pitch on LEGO Ideas contest platform turned out to become a hit among fans, reaching the 10,000 supporter milestone in a short period and getting the green light by LEGO to become an official set.

Here’s a peek at the proposed LEGO design.

The set will come with a LEGO minifigure featuring Vincent Van Gogh himself carrying a painting palette.

So cool.

Here’s how the official LEGO set will likely look like when it’s finally released.

According to LEGO, the final designs, pricing and release date are still being worked out at the moment but we should be able to buy it on LEGO online store (or from local LEGO shops) very soon.

The LEGO Ideas set has since gone viral and spawned a number of bootlegged replicas. A quick google reveals online marketplaces such as Lazada selling similar designs with prices ranging from $85 – $130.
