A number of hand sanitisers have been recalled by HSA due to high levels of chemical compounds
In case you didn’t know, the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) has recently recalled a number of hand sanitisers in Singapore due to the high level of chemicals detected.
The chemicals that were found to exceed the pharmaceutical limit are acetaldehyde and/or methanol.
The affected products are being recalled on a wholesale level (stop supply and return back to the company) but as HSA has specified, it does not necessarily imply that a product is considered unsafe or is inefficacious.
A number of familiar brands were found in the list including Guardian, Cath Kidston, Walch, Lifebuoy and FairPrice.

If you have bought these hand sanitisers, you might want to refrain from using them or buying them from shops that still carry the stocks.
