The pandemic has caused disruptions to global economic activity and severely impacted the entertainment industry. Movie theatres and production studios around the world temporarily closed after restrictions were imposed.
Filmgarde Bugis+
With already less than a handful of theatres in Singapore, homegrown cinema operator Filmgarde will be closing down their Bugis+ and Century Square cinemas citing changing trends and decline in overall cinema attendance.
According to Filmgarde’s latest announcement, the Bugis+ outlet has been operating for close to 13 years and will be screening movies for the last time on 3 February, right after the Chinese New Year holidays.
The Century Square outlet is slated to close sometime in end-March later this year.
