Some batches of Haagen-Dazs Vanilla ice cream in S’pore contain pesticide compound

For those who love vanilla ice cream, it’s best to check your fridge if you have Haagen-Dazs ice cream stocked up.

Recall from Singapore Food Agency

Singapore Food Agency (SFA), a statutory board ensuring and securing a supply of safe food in Singapore, has issued a recall notice on selected batches of Haagen-Dazs Vanilla ice cream due to the presence of ethylene oxide detected.

Here are the affected products:

Haagen-Dazs Vanilla (Pint) with Best Before Dates: 4 Jul 2022 to 21 Jul 2023
Haagen-Dazs Vanilla (Classic Collection Mini Cups) with Best Before Dates: 4 Jul 2022 to 21 Jul 2023

The affected products are from France.

According to SFA, ethylene oxide is a pesticide that is not authorised for use in food and although there’s no immediate risk to consumption of food contaminated with low levels, long-term exposure may lead to health issues.

Consumers are advised not to consume the implicated products.
