11 new stations along Thomson East Coast Line set to open by end-2022

Good news for residents and workers who stay or work along some of the stations along the new Thomson East Coast Line.

11 brand new stations to open

Land Transport Authority (LTA) has just announced they have officially handed over 11 new stations under Thomson East Coast Line Phase 3 (TEL3).

Over 240,000 households in Singapore located within a 10-minute walk from the stations will benefit from the opening of TEL3 later this year.

For example, commuters can save over 40% in travel time between Springleaf and Great World with TEL3 compared to a 60-minute journey by bus and MRT.

The new stations under the TEL3 include:

  • Stevens
  • Napier
  • Orchard Boulevard
  • Orchard
  • Great World
  • Havelock
  • Outram Park
  • Maxwell
  • Shenton Way
  • Marina Bay
  • Gardens by the Bay

They have also highlighted operational testing will be carried out at the new stations before welcoming commuters by the end of this year.

Train Model Collectible

For those who are train enthusiasts, you might want to know that there’s an official TEL Train Die-Cast Model made using zinc alloy available on Qoo10 marketplace.

It even has all the intricate details like the colour of the seats, grab poles and draught screen.
