It will be a sad month for bird lovers come January next year.
That’s because Jurong Bird Park will be having their last day of operation on 3 January 2023, after 51 years of unforgettable moments and memories.
The aviation and tourist attraction in Jurong currently takes up 0.2 square kilometres on the western slope of Jurong Hill (the highest point in Jurong) and is the largest bird park in Asia.
It’s not goodbye though – The bird park will be relocating to Mandai as part of the Mandai Nature Precinct, a 5-in-1 massive nature and wildlife reserve which also includes a new rainforest park and a new resort operated by Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts along with Singapore Zoo, Night Safari and River Safari.
Here’s a map showing where the new bird park will be located.
Highlights of the new bird park include:
According to the masterplan, the bird park will also have naturalistic habitats for birds to roam freely and large spaces for interactive exhibits.
From 3 September onwards, there will be activities and guided tours to learn about the park’s history. Visitors can also explore Jurong Bird Park through the eyes of the team that runs the park from an insider guide you can download here.
