This weekend, Aperia Mall is set to turn into a vibrant hub of Thai culture as Thai Supermarket celebrates its 40th anniversary, in conjunction with the lively Songkran festivities.
Happening on 12 & 13 April 2025, the celebration promises a nostalgic, flavour-packed experience for both longtime fans and curious newcomers.
A Tribute to 40 Years of Thai Groceries & Community
Since 1985, Thai Supermarket has been more than just a place to buy Thai ingredients — it’s grown into a cultural touchstone for the Thai community in Singapore. To mark this milestone, the anniversary celebration pays homage to the supermarket’s early days, with throwback vibes inspired by the 80s and 90s.
Expect retro games, an old-school mini mart photo spot, and friendly encouragement to come dressed in your best retro outfit — elephant pants, floral shirts, and colourful accessories very much welcomed.
$4 Food Fiesta: A Taste of Thailand for Less
To mark the occasion, Thai Supermarket is rolling out a $4 food street lined with vendors offering everything from nostalgic snacks to freshly made Thai favourites:
- Slurp Noodle Bar: Boat noodles, Pad Mama, Pad See Ew, and Pad Thai
- Folks Collective Thai Dessert Pop-up: Thai Bingsu, Mango Sticky Rice, Red Ruby, Lukchup
- Talad Thai Banana: Thai fried bananas and fritters (limited to 100 portions/day)
- The Crispy Crepes: Thai-style mini crepes (Kanom Beung)
Whether you’re craving something savoury or something sweet, there’s a little of everything — all priced at just $4 in celebration of the supermarket’s 40 years.
Chang Beer Carnival Zone
Look out for the Chang Carnival Zone, which brings a taste of the Thai street fair atmosphere. Try your hand at the Beer Bottle Ring Toss or Can Knock-out and stand a chance to win free Chang beer, limited-edition merchandise, and more.
The first 100 guests each day can even enjoy a complimentary cup of Chang’s new Espresso Lager — a bold, unexpected blend of beer and coffee. And for those picking up a six-pack, there’s a free cooler bag up for grabs too.
