10 Activities to do on Valentine’s Day

Countdown to Valentine’s Day!

It’s the time of the year where couples get busy with deciding what to do on Valentine’s day. Happening on a Monday this year, we are pretty sure you lovers out there have begun making preparations for it… unless you really haven’t. Well here are some quick ideas we came up with so if you indeed did use any of them, drop us a comment how it goes!

Here we go! Starting with the obvious ones…

The Jewel Box Sky Dining

Sky Dining or a.k.a Cable Car dining brought to your by The Jewel Box, probably one of the more popular dinning activities to look forward to for most couples being able to enjoy a romantic fine dining experience with your lover while watching the evening’s sunset over Singapore landscape. There’s a list of optionals, from stalks of roses to cakes and wines  for you to select when you reserve a cabin, the package will set you back to around $500 or less depending on your selections.

Unfortunately at time of writing they are fully booked on 14 Feb(11-13 still available)… next year perhaps. :(

Singapore Flyer Cupid Sky Dining

Moving vertically as compared to horizontally on The Jewel Box’s Sky Dining, Singapore Flyer offers a similar setting in their spacious cabins. Their Cupid Sky Dining package includes a 3-course dinner, wine, rose and gift for the lady and access to VIP lounge. There are optionals of cakes, hotel stays and limo services as well. Price wise, it’s a tad lower than cable car dining which starts at $299++ on 12 & 13 Feb and $339++ on 14 Feb(selling fast!).

Donate Blood

This may not be a conventional valentine’s day activity, but most people do not realize the importance of a blood bank that is full. 30-60 minutes of your time can literally save someone’s life. Plus, doesn’t it just add a river of meaning when you and your partner do something of worth together? All you need is your identification card. Also, guys this cannot be the only thing you do.

Picnic at the Botanic Gardens

A great activity if you are expecting good weather. Recommended for mornings and evenings. In the morning you and your dear one can walk hand in hand together with a variety of joggers, families and couples that have been together for decades. In the evening both of you can enjoy the cool evening breeze while you gaze in each other’s eyes and the background of the gardens fade away. Don’t forget your mats and some card games to pass the time. Check out Botanic Gardens official website for more info.

Valentine’s Day on the Love Express

Surprise your partner with a wild ride into the Night Safari on the Love Express accompanied by a five-course gourmet dinner. While it does sound exciting,  the package prices may be a little over the top in our opinion with the Deluxe seats going for $469+ and Premium seats at $499+. No mention on the differences between the packages though we suspect it might be the seats location but nevertheless if you happen to go for it, do let us know your experiences as well!

G-MAX Reverse Bungy @ Clarke Quay

Looking for a more adrenaline filled activity? Try the reverse Bungy by G-Max. For those who do not know reverse bungy is a ride that shoots you and your partner vertically upwards at speeds up to 200kph and up to 5 Gs. This is a moment that both of you will remember for a long time to come.

Also, you can opt for your experience to be recorded on video. Sweet!

Catch a ‘Gold Class’ Movie

Movies are a common date activity, why not do the same for Valentine’s day but with all the trimmings? The Gold Class experience starts from the moment you enter the Cinema waiting area where you can enjoy a 5-star food and beverage menu. The Gold Class cinema seats are all equipped with call buttons for faster and more discreet service.  A new level of concierge-style service, hitherto unseen in Singapore cinemas. This means that if you feel like nachos in the middle of the movie, you would only have to press a button.

Underwater World – Swim with the Dolphins

Take a dip into the Underwater World at Sentosa this Valentine’s day and get to interact with the dolphins! The $170 package includes admission to the Underwater World, choice of sandwich or cake set and an exclusive dolphin T-shirt. The entire duration of the program will last an hour with two sessions to book from – 9:45am and 1:30pm, just so you know you still have to plan out some other activities for a good later half of the day, perhaps in Sentosa as well?

Sunset @ East Coast Park or Changi Boardwalk

Who can ever forget those romantic strolls along sandy beaches. With two locations along the eastern coastlines of Singapore to choose from, this simply would be perfect activity to end the busy day with your loved one. Labrador Park is a good quiet location as well but it’s a bit out of the way if you don’t drive. The sunset timing for this Valentine’s day is at 7:21pm so be there early!
