OnePlus Android Smartphone Is All Powerful Inside Yet Incredibly Affordable

Although a new and small phone manufacturer, the OnePlus smartphone is taking the world by storm (or at least China first). Founded by Pete Lau, previously from Oppo, OnePlus features one of the the latest 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core CPU, 3GB RAM, 16GB or 64GB storage without expansion option, a 13 megapixel Sony camera and 4G LTE connectivity running on CynogenMod 11S based off Android KitKat. It’s beautifully designed and cased in magnesium alloy metal.

All this for just US$299 for the 16GB or US$349 for the 64GB storage option. An Android smartphone with these specs will easily fall into the S$800-S$1,000 price range here in Singapore. Unfortunately Singapore is not included in their first wave of worldwide distribution so we might have to wait a while more or go for imports.

Update 28th April 2014: First OnePlus hands-on review is available @ TechRadar if you are interested to find out more.
