Announced at Mobile World Congress happening at Barcelona less than a day ago, Samsung debut their latest flagship smartphones Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

Most of the speculations and leaks has been accurate thus far – a 5.1″ QHD double edge curve display screen on the S6 Edge and a metallic body. The new Android smartphones will feature 64-bit processors available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage sizes.

Lights, camera, action

Cameras are improved as well, 16-megpixel f1.9 aperture on the rear and on the front a 5-megapixel. Samsung claims the new phones will launch the camera in under 3/4 of a second, features optical image stabilisation and fast tracking auto-focus.

Hate the battery life on your current phones? Samsung fast charge claims 4 hours of usage in just 10 minutes of charging, plus there is wireless charging built in though the wireless charging pad is sold separately.

Features missing

The seamless metal and glass body redesign however means that there won’t be any microSD slot for storage expansion options or quick battery replacements since the back cover can’t be removed. The new phones will no longer be water resistant as well.

On the software side, Samsung has changed and improved the TouchWiz user interface cutting down the number of pop-ups.

The phones will go on sale in 20 countries from 10 April 2015, no pricing has been announced yet.
