GoPro HERO4 Session comes in an even smaller package

If you absolutely need your action camera to be so tiny

Meet GoPro’s latest addition to the HERO action camera family – HERO4 Session. It’s probably GoPro’s attempt to make the smallest action camera with the minimum reduction in image and video quality. It looks uncannily similar to Polaroid Cube, without doubt the HERO4 Session arrival is a sign of Polaroid’s success.

For those who already own a GoPro HERO, the HERO4 Session will also be compatible with the GoPro mounts so you won’t have to buy another set of accessories. The HERO4 Session is waterproof, capable of 1080p60 video and takes 8-megapixel photos and feature just a single one-button control.

The specs of the HERO4 Session is similar to the HERO4 Silver and is too priced at S$590 retail, however this Wired video review shows that the HERO4 Session, though incredibly compact, suffers from a lower image quality when compared to the HERO4 Silver.

Unless you desperately need to use an action camera in tight spaces, we don’t see how attractive and competitive the HERO4 Session can be and since Polaroid Cube can be bought for a quarter of the price and is able to capture 1080p video as well.

The GoPro HERO4 Session will be able from 12 July onwards.
