When was the last time you visited Underwater World? If you can’t remember, then you can’t blame them for announcing their closure today.

The oceanarium which opened 15 years ago operated by Haw Par Corporation is set to close their doors on 26 June later this month and according to reports, the marine animals including pink dolphins, fur seals, and otters has already been approved by the authorities to be relocated to Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in Zhuhai, China.

Reasons for the closure has been linked with dolphin health scandals and tough competition from S.E.A. Aquarium and Dolphin Island operated by Resorts World Sentosa.

The news of the closure will also see entrance fee markdowns starting this Tuesday, 7 June: $9 for adults (U.P. $29.90) and $5 for children (U.P. $20.90). Additionally, Underwater Santa and God of Fortune will be making daily appearances at the tunnel to bid visitors farewell.
