The Last Guardian is a video game designed by Ueda Fumito, better known for his work on Playstation 2 critically acclaimed games such as Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.
The new puzzle game platformer took its design cues from Ueda’s previous games and was first seen in the video game trade fair E3 back in 2009. According to an interview with Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida, The Last Guardian’s production could take a while, although no estimate was given at that point of time.
Phew, that was close!
The game which was initially slated for Playstation 3 release but has suffered numerous delays. It was finally reintroduced again in E3 2015 forcing it to be released on Playstation 4 worldwide in December 2016.
